'New Dawn' Suffragette Pin
In 2016 Sally was commissioned by The Houses of Parliament to create a collection of jewellery to accompany the installation of 'New Dawn' a light sculpture by Mary Branson to celebrate women's suffrage. 'New Dawn' is displayed in Westminster Hall and can be viewed by the public.
The imagery on this pin is inspired by the Parliamentary scrolls. The design is resist printed onto aluminum by hand then dyed a recognisable Sufragette green The alumnium is polished to give it a shiny surface.The pin is made from silver with a silver plated brooch stopper.
All of the pieces of jewellery were made in Sally's London studio at Cockpit Arts and you can read bout how she made some pieces of the collection in her blog.
