Learn with Sally

Sally is an experienced teacher and has been teaching in Adult education for twenty years.

She currently teaches a variety of different jewellery making techniques including resin jewellery; wax carving; enamelling and silver clay jewellery. She also runs the Silver jewellery workshop there.

Sally is employed by Workshop 925; City Lit; UAL and at The Mary Ward Centre in Stratford.

Courses at UAL Central Saint Martins

Sally will be running the Starting a jewellery Business Short Course at UAL Central Saint Martins. This course which will run in June for a week beginning 29th June until 3rd July, 2027. This course will be packed with information on how to set up a jewellery business.

Courses at The Mary Ward Centre in Stratford 2026/2027

Resin Jewellery Weekend course Come along for two consecutive Saturday sessions to learn how to make jewellery using resin. On 21st and 28th November 2026

Silver Jewellery Workshop A twelve week course starting in January 2027 and running through to April 2027 that allows you to design and create jewellery using silver jewellery making techniques. Learn how to texture, cut, solder, fold form, make bezels for semi precious stones, make rings and a other traditional jewellery making skills on this course. You can sign up for the whole day on Fridays too by enrolling onto the Beginners Jewellery course on Friday Afternoons.

Enamelling Saturday course On 7th November 2026. Sally will be teaching a whole day of learning how to enamel onto copper to make some stunning enamelled jewellery.

CityLit Courses 2026

Wax Carving Course Course Code: VV915, 5th November 2026 - 11th December 2026. 10:30 until 16:30. Learn how to sculpt wax for the lost wax casting technique. Yu will learn different ways of carving wax into rings, pendants and charms.

Beginners Jewellery Course. Course Code: 6th November - 12th December 2026. 28:00 - 21:00.

Sally's Teaching Experience

Sally holds a City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Further Education teaching and has more than 20 years of experience in teaching adults jewellery making. She has taught for Cockpit Arts; The British Academy of Jewellery; Designercourses and at Greenwich Community College in addition to over seeing student jewellery workshop sessions at London Metropolitan university in East London.

Sally currently teaches at Workshop 925; City Lit and UAL Central Saint Martins.

She is also the head jewellery tutor of the Stratford site of the Mary Ward Centre where she delivers jewellery courses.

In 2016 to 2019 Sally hosted workbench experience to Erasmus students from Escola D'art de Menorca

About Sally

Sally studied art & design at art college in the North of England and achieved an upper second class Bachelor of Arts degree with honours.

Sally also wrote a series of exciting jewellery making projects for Beads and Beyond magazine and has appeared on the BBC's Learning Zone. Her cufflinks are featured in 'Anodized! Brilliant Colours and Bold Designs in Aluminium' by Clare Stiles and 'Coloured Aluminium Jewellery: Design and Make' by Lindsey Mann and her Finches bangle is featured in 'Colour And Textures In Jewellery' By Bekki Cheeseman And Nina Gilbey.
