The Story of the Women's Suffrage Neckpiece

This stunning neckpiece was created for The Houses of Parliament for the Voice and Vote exhibition shop.

The neckpiece is inspired by the 'New Dawn' light sculpture by Mary Branson that was installed in Westminister Hall in 2016 celebrating women's suffrage.

Colours distinguished the many suffrage organisations with the most recognised being green, purple and white. Green signifies hope, purple - dignity and white - purity. The brooch also includes yellow from the Women’s Freedom League and red from Millicent Fawcetts’s National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies.
