'New Dawn' Suffragette Stud Earrings
In 2016 Sally Lees was commissioned to create a collection of jewellery to accompany the installation of 'New Dawn' a light sculpture by Mary Branson to celebrate women's suffrage installed at Westminster Hall at The Houses of Parliament in London.
The imagery on these earrings is inspired by the Parliamentary scrolls. The design is resist printed onto aluminum by hand then dyed an attractive red. The alumnium is polished to give it a shiny surface. The tiny central studs are sterling silver and the backs are stainles steel.
The earrings are approx 13mm in diametre.
