Learn Jewellery making techniques with Sally

Sally is an experiened teacher and has been teaching in Adult education for over twenty years.

She currently teaches a variety of different jewellery making techniques including resin jewellery; wax carving; enamelling and silver clay jewellery. She also teaches traditional jewellery making skills in the Silver jewellery workshop at Mary Ward Centre and City Lit.

Sally is employed by Workshop 925; City Lit; UAL and at The Mary Ward Centre in Stratford.

Courses for 2025

Courses at UAL Central Saint Martins

Sally will be running the Starting a jewellery Business Short Course at UAL Central Saint Martins. This runs for one week from 30st June until 4th July. This course will be packed with information on how to set up a jewellery business.

Courses at The Mary Ward Centre

Silver jewellery workshop    Learn how to texture, cut, solder, fold form, make bezels for semi precious stones, make rings and a other traditional jewellery making skills on this course. You can sign up for the whole day on Fridays too.

Silver Clay Jewellery Saturday Class   Learn how to make jewellery from silver clay.

Enamelling Saturday course   Learn how to enamel onto copper to make some stunning enamelled jewellery.

Enamelling Six week daytime course Take a morning out of your week to relax and learn a new skill for fun with Sally on her six week enamelling course. Learn how to enamel on copper including sifting and wet packing techniques.

Silver clay six week daytime course    Join Sally's six week silver clay jewellery course learn lots of techniques in this amazing material and apply them to make a collection of silver clay jewellery. You receive 2 bags of 10g silver clay on this course.

Sally's Teaching Experience

Sally holds a City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Further Education teaching and has more than 20 years of experience in teaching adults jewellery making. She has taught for Cockpit Arts; The British Academy of Jewellery; Designercourses and at Greenwich Community College in addition to over seeing student jewellery workshop sessions at London Metropolitan university in East London.

Sally currently teaches at Workshop 925; City Lit and UAL Central Saint Martins.
She is also the head jewellery tutor of the Stratford site of the Mary Ward Centre  where she delivers jewellery courses.
In 2016 to 2019 Sally hosted workbench experience to Erasmus students from Escola D'art de Menorca

About Sally
Sally studied art & design at art college in the North of England and achieved an upper second class Bachelor of Arts degree with honours.
Sally also wrote a series of exciting jewellery making projects for Beads and Beyond magazine and has appeared on the BBC's Learning Zone. Her cufflinks are featured in 'Anodized! Brilliant Colours and Bold Designs in Aluminium' by Clare Stiles and 'Coloured Aluminium Jewellery: Design and Make' by Lindsey Mann.
